There is no precise definition of intellectual property because it is a basket of different right and is a diverse as human ingenuity. Intellectual property is a product of the human intellect. it may be an invention, a concept, a literary or artistic creation, a computer program or process, a design, an industrial process or method, a unique name or brand or a piece of information which is confidential. In short, intellectual property can de defined as the intangible or tangible results for the creative endeavor and innovation of human begins.
Intellectual property rights (IPRs) are rights given to persons over the creations of their minds. They usually give the creation an exclusive right over the use of his/her creation of a certain period of time. In a wide sense, intellectual property rights are legal rights. All intellectual property rights generally include third parties from exploiting protected subject matter without explicit authorization of the right holder, for certain duration of time. Protection of intellectual property rights is meant for the general benefit and progress of society.
